This year sure started fast! Here's a quick rundown of all the great stuff happening at Manhood Journey.
2018 in review
First, in case you missed it, we created this beautiful Ministry Impact Report for reviewing 2018. Check it out and see all God did for the ministry last year. Here's what you'll find in the report:
- Reach & impact: from web & blog traffic to number of dads using our resources
- New products: see all the Field Guides, curriculum and the digital course we released
- Friend & partners: review all the great friends from Trail Life USA to City on a Hill Studio
- Events: review everything from our father-son retreat to our big annual dinner
- Testimonials from dads: see how we're coming alongside dads to help
- Financials: see donations, monthly givers (of which we need more!) and the budget
As you review, join us in thanking God for a solid year. We haven't arrive by any means, but we thank God for a foundational year. With that, it's time to hustle—2019 is now!
The Connected Father digital course is live!
Hopefully y'all recall last year when we launched this course during two short windows. Many of you bought it—and loved it. We took your feedback, improved the course—and then decided to put it back in the store—and keep it there this time 24/7—365!
This course was created based on the most-pressing struggles dads face. So, grab it! The Connected Father is now live in our store. Here's what's inside this helpful resource for dads:
- 16 training videos > on everything from leadership, communication and training so you overcome struggles and become the dad God intends
- 14 podcasts > from busy business executives, pastors, athletes, organization and ministry leaders—and dads!
- 5 downloadable documents > from an eBook you've never seen before to helpful print-ready sheets for memorizing new godly-dad strategies
- 1 mindmap > one sheet to rule them all! Add this to your office decor or fridge and keep connecting with your family front and center in your mind.
Kent keynotes Men's Retreat in Ohio
We love getting to encourage pastors, lay leaders and the men in the church. Kent was asked to lead a retreat at Linworth Baptist Church in Ohio. Great turnout for Kent to teach what he loves—mentoring! Kent taught from his passion of "Wise Guys" —both how to surround yourself with godly counsel AND how to be a godly mentor.
Pastor Smith said about the weekend:
Kent’s message is something every man needs to hear. God wants us to be the men he designed us to be but we can’t achieve this on our own. He has given us the resource of other men to come into our lives to encourage, challenge and equip. Kent gives practical examples and steps to take to make these relationships become a reality.
We're grateful for this opportunity to help pastors like Brent and Steve serve the guys in their church. Special thanks to Senior Pastor Brent Miller and Associate & Family Pastor Steve Smith for having us!
Lots of great things happening in the coming weeks and months for the ministry. We're excited about all God is doing! Here are a few things coming up soon:
February 9th > Heart of Womanhood Diamond Dance
This super special event is upon us! That happened quick right? Are y'all ready to dance? Apparently you are! Spots filled quickly! We are booked—max capacity at 400+! Stay tuned for the recap of this special evening. We can't wait to share!
This event will be such a unique time to have fathers and daughter connect in a memorable way. We're excited for this big night! Remember, this event doesn't happen without partner churches as good as these—to name a few:
March > Kent keynoting men's retreat in Florida
If you live in the area—or know someone who does—register for this upcoming event at Lake Aurora Christian Camp & Retreat Center.
Theme: Boiling Point
Keynote Speaker 2019: Kent Evans
There are so many pressures bringing men to their boiling point but God has provided resources to guide and direct this volatile emotion to a place that honors Him. Uncover the expectations (some valid, some not, some downright unfair) that lead to frustration and anger. Kent will dig into James 4 and teach guys how to tame this charged emotion.
